Supporting Bound for Glory in its 41st Season!
PhilShapiro.jpg
On a Sunday night
in September 1967, Phil Shapiro made his first Ithaca broadcast on
WVBR's Bound for Glory, presenting folk music of all sorts and kinds
to the Central New York listening audience.

Guest artists perform three
half-hour sets in front of a live audience and for the pleasure of the "audio
radiance" of Central New York. The guests aren't paid for their performances; no
admission is charged. Clearly, it's one of the better bargains around for fans of
live folk music. Years of frugal loving care applied to aging audio equipment have
helped the show stay on the air on its minimal budget.

In order to help
keep the systems needed for Bound for Glory functioning, the "Friends of Bound
for Glory, Inc." has been organized. In addition, the group has done a lot to
take some of the fundraising work off of Phil, and to promote folk music in the
Central New York area.

To contribute or for more
information, please write to Friends of Bound for Glory, PO Box 173, Ithaca, New
York 14851, send e-mail to bfg@wvbr.com, or
visit the Bound for Glory web
site.
