John was WVBR's chief engineer for 25 years. John was on call 24/7, ensuring that the station continued to stay on the air.

According to WVBR Veteran Phil Shapiro, he understood who WVBR was better than anyone else. John was a man of many talents, serving as a volunteer for the Varna Fire Department, and the Chief Technician for Barry Manilow.

John died in Middletown, VA due to complications of diabetes. He is survived by his niece and numerous close friends.
