Mitt Romney wins the primary election in New York State, including a majority vote in Tomplins county.
On Tuesday, Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney won the New York state primary with a majority vote of 62.2 percent. Texas governor Ron Paul came in second place with only 15.8 percent of votes. Newt Gingrich came in third and Rick Santorum followed in fourth. In the Tompkins County there was an extremely low republican turn out of only 1,132 voters out of the 12,683 registered republican voters in the county. Romney won in Tompkins County with a 55.1 percent vote.
