Five New York Wegmans stores, including the Ithaca location, kicked off the fifth annual Fill The Bus campaign this week, in conjunction with the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. 

This campaign serves the food bank’s backpack program, which sends a backpack full of nutritious food home with students in need once a week. Wegmans will be collecting non-perishable items in their stores until September 21^st. Last year, the program filled over 53,000 backpacks for students in six New York counties.
