Cornell University President David Skorton was named for Partners for a New Beginning Steering Committee.
Cornell University President David Skorton was invited to be in the advisory committee of Partners for a New Beginning. PNB is a non-profit organization that aims to bridge Middle East, North Africa and South Asia communities with the U.S. private and civil resources. Founded in 2010, the organization acts to foster economic opportunity, advance science and technology and increase educational opportunities. PNB has local chapters in ten countries around the world and it brings international and US partners together through these chapters.
Yesterday, former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright announced President Skorton’s nomination to PNB’s Steering Committee. Albright said "David Skorton is a leading voice on educational diversity, academic and business partnerships, international outreach and immigration reform", and she added “His broad experience, thoughtfulness and energy will be an excellent addition to our outstanding Steering Committee."
