Campus Conservation Nationals just started two weeks ago on Sunday! Campus Conservation Nationals is a three-week long energy-reducing competition happening in the residence halls until March 9th. The dorm that has the largest percent reduction in energy use wins a trophy, plaque, and another fun prize, and if a college in Ithaca wins as a whole against schools across the country, it could win national recognition!
There are two big events for the competition. The first was a zero-landfill basketball game held last Saturday, with pre-game pizza and conversation with Ovie Mughelli, two-time Pro Bowl NFL player, about greening athletics. The second event is a screening of "The City Dark", an award-winning film about light pollution and the cosmos that will be screened tomorrow. It is a great chance to reduce your energy use and you can support this cause by going to the events. And remember: Reduce Energy, Reduce Waste: How Low Can You Go?
Be the first!
