Cornell University received a grant for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
Cornell University continues to integrate technology in higher education. The university announced that they would be receiving a $50,000 grant and technological support from Google to initiate a massive open online courses (MOOCs) project. The recently designed “university courses” that aim to cover topics from multiple disciplines taught by three professors in one class will be transformed to a MOOC. With Google’s support and faculty’s efforts other courses that use technology will become MOOCs as well. Many think that MOOCs would be a great opportunity for everyone who has access to Internet to get a high quality education.
