Cornell University’s Senior Class Convocation is slated for Saturday May 24th with esteemed guest, actor, and comedian Ed Helms officially announced to give this year’s address to the Class of 2014.
Helms is well known for his role as Stuart Price in all three of The Hangover movies, but is known even more affectionately by the Cornell community for his particular connection to the university. A NYU grad himself, Helms played fictitious Cornellian Andy Bernard in the U.S. version of The Office from the show’s inception in 2006 to its finale in 2013. Helms has won two Teen Choice Awards for his filmography and has enjoyed even more accolades through The Office’s five total Emmy Awards.
The event will run from 12 to 1 p.m. at Cornell’s Schoellkopft Stadium, with gates opening at 10 a.m. The entire community is invited to attend; no tickets will be distributed ahead of the event nor is there a limit to the amount of guests that can attend. With Helms’s graduation address to seniors will be the Class of 2014’s presentation of its senior gift to the university.
All campus and outlying parking lots will be free to use all day with stadium seating available for guests in the bleachers. Also offered by the university during the ceremony will be mobility-impaired seating and sign language interpretation in the same section. Live, broadcasted coverage will be available during the day on Ithaca Cable Channel 16 as well as a webcast link that will be posted at www.cornell.edu on the day of the event for a live stream.
Additional coverage can be heard on CornellRadio.com at 5:45 via Millie Kastenbaum and the university has stated that any questions can be directed to email@example.com or to 607-255-5217.
