New order means changes in Ithaca residents water pressure
Yesterday, the Ithaca Town Board adopted the public interest order regarding the Christopher Circle Water Tank Improvement project. The venture concerns replacing the current 500,000-gallon steel water tank on Christopher Lane with a glass-lined tank. The old tank will remain in use throughout construction of its successor but for residents not in the northeastern portion of the town, this will mean yet another year of low water pressure. Earlier this year engineers from GHD declared that both the Christopher Circle tank, as well as the Sapsucker Woods tank are deteriorating. Replacement of the Sapsucker tank is not slated to occur until 2015.
