Cornell University's Synchrotron Light Source Lab received $100 million in funding from the National Science Foundation

Yesterday the university’s High Energy Synchrotron Light Source Lab received $100 million in funding from the National Science Foundation. This lab is one of five in the world and one of only two in the US that has the capacity to use such a powerful source of X-rays. Senator Charles Schumer of New York says that this grant will enable the scientists and engineers working at the facility in Wilson Lab to plan their research into the future while providing the financial means to team up with various organizations including the Air Force Research Lab and the Department of Energy.
