Ithaca, New York has been named the number one college town in the country. The American Institute for Economic Research's latest index of college destinations ranked by off-campus opportunities, took into account academic environment, quality of life, professional opportunities, and a variety of other factors.
Ithaca was named first place in the category of college town, defined as areas with populations under 250,000 residents.
