At the Board of Public Works yesterday, four appeals for sidewalk assessment were on the agenda, and one was voted on. In the end, it was decided that the city’s sidewalk program needed to be evaluated separate of these individual appeals.
Commissioners Bill Goldsmith and Robert Morache have volunteered to lead the reevaluation, and will make recommendations on how the program can be improved. The two commissioners have said they will review previous-commissioner Wade Wykstra’s work in order to help the investigation.
Superintendent of Public Works Bill Gray has recommended that the pair of commissioners look at both the small details and the bigger picture, and they have agreed to also look into both short and long term changes.
