WHO DAT EDITION

Lots of interesting games this week. As always, let me know what you think about these rankings in the comments section below.

Rank

Team

Change

Record

Reasoning

1

Texans

+1

8-1

In order to beat the Bears, every part of your team has to be pretty dominant. The Texans showed why they are the best team in the league.

2

Falcons

-1

8-1

The Falcons are no longer lossless (is that a word?). They lost their first game against the Saints, their biggest division rival. Next week, they face the imploding Cardinals.

3

49ers

--

6-2-1

This team definitely plays better when led by Alex Smith. Kaepernick is a good weapon, but he couldn’t lead the 49ers to a win against the Rams.

4

Bears

--

7-2

The Bears put up a good fight, but Cutler’s injury weakened an already shaky offense.

5

Packers

--

6-3

During the bye week, the Packers managed to lose two players to IR. They have a fairly tough schedule moving forward on their path a wildcard spot.

6

Broncos

+2

6-3

The Broncos completely dominated the Panthers last week with the defense harassing Cam Newton the entire game. Everything is looking good for the rest of the season.

7

Patriots

-1

6-3

It’s scary how the Patriots almost lost a close one to the Bills on Sunday. Their defense really needs to step up to the level of their offense.

8

Ravens

+2

7-2

Even though they lacked some key players, the Ravens crushed the Raiders, putting up 55 points and leaving the Raiders with only 20.

9

Steelers

--

6-3

Losing Big Ben really hurt the Steelers. What was supposed to be a blowout turned into a low-scoring overtime battle with the Chiefs.

10

Giants

-3

6-4

The Giants are now in their dreaded November slump. It’s insane that a team that was playing so well earlier in the season is getting completely blown out now.

11

Seahawks

--

6-4

The Seahawks dominated the helpless Jets and bolstered their chances at getting a coveted NFC wild card spot.

12

Vikings

--

6-4

The difference between the Vikings offense each week is like night and day. Ponder played well, but he needs to be more consistent for the Vikings to make the playoffs.

13

Colts

--

6-3

I’d be surprised if Luck doesn’t get rookie of the year. He came to a 2-14 team and helped turn them into a solid contender. The Colts are looking good.

14

Buccaneers

+2

5-4

The Bucs have been really solid for the last few weeks. Every aspect of the team did pretty well as they defeated the Chargers.

15

Saints

+6

4-5

Between the Bucs and the Saints, the NFC South is looking way better than it was a few weeks ago. The Saints could still make a playoff run with the way they’ve been playing.

16

Lions

-1

4-5

After making a playoff run last year, the Lions have had a really disappointing season. Injuries and bad play-calling have all but ended their hopes of another playoff spot.

17

Redskins

--

3-6

After a bye week, the Redskins have an easy matchup against the other team at the bottom of the NFC East, the Eagles.

18

Cowboys

+1

4-5

Although they crushed the Eagles, the Cowboys are not playing very well. They have an easy schedule moving forward, so they need to make the most of it.

19

Bengals

+1

4-5

The defense really came through against the Giants on Sunday. The Bengals cling on to their slim chance at grabbing a playoff spot.

20

Cardinals

-2

4-5

With a tough matchup against the 8-1 Falcons next week, the Cardinals don’t look like they’ll come out of their downward spiral anytime soon.

21

Dolphins

-7

4-5

No one thought the Dolphins would lose this badly after their decent performances earlier in the season. There’s a big problem if you only put up 3 points against the Titans.

22

Rams

+2

3-5-1

The Rams held their own in what turned out to be the first NFL tie in 4 years. Their offense is looking rejuvenated with the return of star WR Danny Amendola.

23

Chargers

-1

4-5

Out of their last 7 games, the Chargers have only won twice, both times against the Chiefs. I really don’t understand how Norv Turner still has a job.

24

Titans

+6

4-6

Jake Locker looked good as starting QB and Chris Johnson is definitely back to his old self. The Titans dominated the Dolphins in every way last week.

25

Eagles

-2

3-6

All hope has been lost for Philly. Nick Foles will probably get the spotlight from now on so that the team can judge if he is worth starting next year.

26

Bills

+2

3-6

The Bills kept pace with an incredible Patriots offense last week. It was an interesting game that came down to the very end.

27

Jets

-2

3-6

The Jets are incredibly disappointing nearly every week. They have bright spots, but they’re usually ruined by boneheaded moves and dismal QB play.

28

Panthers

-1

2-7

There’s a crazy amount of bad management on the Panthers. The running backs are paid millions of dollars but don’t get the ball, and the O-line is nonexistent.

29

Browns

--

2-7

Bye week. The Browns have been so close to winning many of their games. Next week, they face an overrated Cowboys squad.

30

Raiders

-4

3-6

We all know the Raiders have an awful defense, but their offense can usually somewhat keep up with their opponent. This week, they just got destroyed all around.

31

Chiefs

+1

1-8

The Chiefs played hard against the Steelers but penalties and some critical errors eliminated their chances at a win.

32

Jaguars

-1

1-8

The Jaguars are hopeless without MJD. This is truly a team that needs to be completely reorganized to have a shot at a decent season next year.

Falcons have had a soft schedule and I just don\'t trust them as much as I trust the other top teams. I like the Packers and Broncos because it\'s a QB driven league and both those teams have star QBs.
