Collegetown: Moving Forward (kind of)
Ithaca is divided on deciding the future of Collegetown. Last year Cornell Univerisity and the City of Ithaca paid Goody Clancy, a planning firm in Boston, MA, $180,000 to come up with a long-term plan for Collegetown. Residents, property owners, students, city officials, Cornell officials, and others collaborated to fine-tune the details. Now, more than a year later, the plan is not finalized due to disagreement on some of its major parts, including building height, parking, and zoning. On Sunday Forum we discuss the reasons for and against the plan in its current form.
