Instead of giving friends and family more “stuff” and physical objects, you can honor them through donations carrying true personal meaning. You’ll be able to make donations to over 40 participating groups, including the Ithaca Children’s Garden, Tompkins County Immigrant Rights Coalition, Meals on Wheels, Cancer Resource Center, Friends of the Ithaca Youth Bureau, and more.

On the website, attendees will be able to see a list of all participating groups, and connect with group representatives to learn more about their missions. There will be links for attendees to make gift by credit card, but you’ll also be able to mail checks directly to the organization as well. Once a donation is made, donors can email or print out a card to send to the recipients they’ve chosen to honor.

The Alternative Gift Fair’s mission is to “provide our community with a meaningful alternative to holiday gift giving, one which celebrates personal charity, community health and well-being, and the preservation of the planet,” making the Fair a great way to spread some good this season.
