Honky Tonk Swing Dance with Lloyd's Boys!


Saturday October 26, 2019, 7-10PM

COME ON DOWN to the Enfield Valley Grange for an evening of good old honky tonk music and dancing! Lloyd's Boys play Hillbilly Swing, Jugband Blues, Country and Cajun for two steps, swing dancing, waltzes, free-style dancing - or just listening. You don't need a partner - just come out and have some fun!

$5 - $15 Suggested Donation at the door supports our Grange Building Fund. Refreshments will be served and we've got the BEST DANCE FLOOR IN TOWN! Er, outside of town that is.

Gypsy Swing Dance with Zingology

Can't get to Paris this winter? No worries! Come on down to the Enfield Valley Grange and play make believe. Enjoy an evening of gypsy jazz and swing dancing with Zingology, a combo based in Ithaca and Enfield. You can come to dance, or just relax and listen!

BEGINNERS SWING DANCE LESSON AT 6 PM. Come early for a free FOXTROT lesson taught by master Swing Dancer Brian Keeler. You don't need a partner. Just come!

AND HEY! WE'VE GOT BEST DANCE FLOOR IN TOWN!

  • ZINGOLOGY plays vintage swing – all those really great tunes from the 1920’s through the 1940’s. They focus on the gypsy jazz style of Django Reinhardt and his famous Hot Club of France. Zingology features: * Brian Keeler on guitar * Ted Caldwell on stand-up bass * Sue Smith on chromatic harmonica * Joanna Green on violin and vocals * Art Godin on guitar and vocals

 

WHY SUPPORT THE GRANGE?

The Grange is a non-partisan rural/farm advocacy organization founded in 1867. We are working to revitalize the Enfield Valley Grange as a welcoming community gathering space. Membership in the Enfield Valley Grange is open to all, whether you live in the country, the city or in between. We are also raising funds for needed building needs repairs and improvements, such as handicap access, a new paint job, electric upgrades, and better insulation. So join us! And please help spread the word.

The Grange is an easy 10 minute drive from downtown Ithaca. From Ithaca, head west on Route 79. After you cross the inlet on the west side of town, follow 79W for about 6 miles. At the flashing light, turn left onto Enfield Main Road, aka Route 327. Proceed 1 more mile and the Grange is on your right. Parking is free – you can park across the street or up in the lot behind the building – just stay out of the way of the firetrucks!
