Express Ugly Feelings through Guided Art at TCPL

ITHACA—Tompkins County Public Library is pleased to offer an art therapy workshop on Thursday, September 5 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, in the Library’s Makerspace.

At “Ugly Art Therapy,” participants will learn that art therapy is about expression rather than artistic skill. Emily M. Walsh, LCAT, will guide the group through private explorations of the feelings and personality traits they may dislike and fear in themselves, to discover how to use those “ugly” sides for greater authenticity, wholeness, and personal growth. Participants will then creatively express the feelings through art, adding depth to their creative practices.

This program is free and open to those ages 16 and up. Registration is appreciated, but not required. Register online athttps://www.tcpl.org/events/ugly-art-therapy.

For more information about this and other programming at TCPL, contact Information and Learning Services at 607 272-4557, extension 260, or at cfontana@tcpl.org.
