ITHACA— Tompkins County Public Library is pleased to offer four classes on Adobe Illustrator in its Digital Lab, Thursdays, September 12, September 26, October 10, and October 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
These four classes will cover the same material; it is not a series. Local maker Laurence Clarkberg will lead these classes in using Adobe Illustrator software through guiding participants in the creation of plans for a lasercut wooden box. Those in attendance will learn to generate box plans, modify the plans using the pen tool, add and trace artwork using the trace tool, and prepare the file for lasercutting. With the file they create at the class, patrons can return to the Library’s Makerspace during Open Hours and laser cut a box.
Participants are expected to be experienced with the following computer skills: using the basic tools of the Mac operating system X; using a keyboard and mouse; and accessing, saving, and importing files.
Space is limited for this free class, and registration is required.
