"Pride Not Prejudice" Comedy Show

An evening of laughter brought to you by Finger Lakes Pulse and Comedy on The Commons.

Ithaca, NY -- It is a special evening as Finger Lakes Pulse and Comedy on The Commons bring you “Pride not Prejudice”, an evening of laughter with nationally touring comedians, Angalia Petrillo, Sam Morrison, and Jaye McBride.  June is a celebration of the beauty and value that our LGBTQAI community brings to Ithaca. Join us on June 22nd, 2019, 7 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 130 E Seneca St, Ithaca, NY 14850. Angalia Petrillo, from Scranton, PA, has been making a name for herself performing throughout PA, Upstate and Central NY.  She is bold; she is funny; she pulls no punches and she is just what any Pride Festival needs! Sam Morrison is a New York City-based comedian who headlines comedy clubs and colleges nationally. He has appeared on the Travel Channel, SiriusXM and will be featured on a PBS documentary about up and coming stand up comedians. He has been in commercials for Apple, Mattress Firm, HIV Pharma, and more. He was named one of Mogul Magazine's Comics to Watch in 2018, is the 1st place winner of the Make Me Laugh Comedy Competition, and was called "a rising star" by Broadway Kingdom. Jaye McBride is funny, smart and proudly transgender. Jaye has traveled the world performing stand-up comedy both as a headliner and sharing the stage with comedy greats like Aziz Ansari, Gilbert Gottfried, Jim Norton & Bobcat Goldthwait. Jaye has also been a part of The Boston Comedy Festival, The Maine Comedy Festival, and the She-Devil Comedy Festival.  In addition to stand-up, Jaye has written, produced and acted in a variety of short films. When not performing on-stage or on-screen Jaye writes "The Comedy Blog" for the Times Union and speaks at colleges all across the country with her lecture about being transgender. Having transitioned in 2007, Jaye is uniquely qualified to talk about awkward first dates, strained family relationships, and self-acceptance. Finger Lakes PULSE's mission is to create a community where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people are free to be who they are, love who they love, and live without fear of violence, harassment or discrimination.
