TCPL Offers More Online Opportunities to Engage with Books, Movies, and the Community

ITHACA—Inspired by the popularity of Break for Books, Tompkins County Public Library’s weekly Facebook interactive group chat, the Library will begin offering Break for Books Jr., Teen Break for Books, and Break for Movies, all found on the TCPL’s Facebook page, located here: https://www.facebook.com/tcplny/. Teen Break for Books will additionally be available on TCPL’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tcplny/. Break for Books continues every Wednesday at 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, and is moderated by TCPL staff. Participants are asked to share their recent reading experiences and to engage with one another around the love of reading. Break for Books Jr. will be aimed at child readers through the fifth grade level and their families, and will follow the same format. Children and their families will share and discuss books they have read. It will take place Mondays, beginning March 30, from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, on the TCPL Facebook page. Teen Break for Books will follow the same format, in that participants will share what they’ve been reading and ask for suggestions for further exploration. Video will be included in the feed. Teen Break for Books will take place on Tuesdays from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, starting March 31, on both Facebook and Instagram. Break for Movies will follow the same format, but the focus will be on movies participants have watched and wish to share. Break for Movies will take place at the TCPL Facebook page, Fridays, starting April 3, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm.
