TCPL Patrons Can Now Borrow Passes to the YMCA of Ithaca

ITHACA— The YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County has partnered with Tompkins County Public Library to provide patrons access to the Y facilities with a special pass they can check out with their library card. TCPL now has one family pass and two individual passes available, each for a one-week loan period. A pass will allow the holder (and household members, with the family pass) to take advantage of all the YMCA has to offer, including the pool, fitness equipment, gymnasium, racquetball courts, and group classes.

Access is crucial to the missions of both TCPL and the YMCA. "The YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County strives every day to truly be a place for all. Creating access is an important step in achieving that vision and by partnering with TCPL we are offering county residents an accessible way to be a part of the Y and build a happier, healthier community," says Gregg Houck, Membership Director of the YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County. The YMCA passes are the latest addition to TCPL’s Library of Things, a collection of non-traditional items that can be borrowed by patrons for use both inside the library and out in the community.

Please contact TCPL’s Access and Circulation Department at 607-272-4557 ext. 269 with any questions regarding this new service.
