ITHACA—Tompkins County Public Library will host a four-part Movement-Based Book Club, Wednesdays, August 7 through 28, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, in the Library’s BorgWarner Community Room.
Melissa Miller and Heidi Eckerson will lead this unique movement-based book club that will explore and experience the questions posed by Katy Bowman in her book, Move Your DNA: Restore Your Health through Natural Movement. This book is meant to be a practical resource to help readers move in new ways, which can sometimes be challenging without guided instruction. These 90-minute meetings will combine discussion and movement in a safe and supportive environment, applying Bowman’s approach to “restor[-ing] our health through natural movement.” No movement experience is necessary to attend.
Melissa Miller, D.C., RN, has had extensive training with Katy Bowman and is a Nutritious Movement™ certified Restorative Exercise Specialist. Heidi Eckerson is a librarian at Durland Alternatives Library who is also a licensed massage therapist.
This book club is being offered by Durland Alternatives Library and is cosponsored by TCPL.
This program is free and open to all adults. Space is limited, and registration is required. Register online at https://www.tcpl.org/events/movement-based-book-club-6.
