Just 26 votes separate the two leading candidates with all of the regular ballots counted in Tuesday’s primary for New York’s 23rd Congressional District. Final results are likely to take several days, if not weeks, as absentee ballots are counted.
Early and incomplete election results on Tuesday night show Max Della Pia and Tracy Mitrano with large chunks of the vote in the Democratic party primary for New York’s 23rd Congressional District in both Tompkins County returns and across the 23rd District.
The eventual winner in this week’s primary election will earn the Democratic nomination and face incumbent Republican candidate Tom Reed in the general election in November.
