NYS Integrated Pest Management will be holding a conference on management and regulations on the spotted lanternfly, an invasive insect likely to become established in NY. The Southern Tier is particularly at risk because the insect is presently expanding its range in Pennsylvania. Grapes are a preferred feeding host and can be killed by the spotted lanternfly, but it is also a pest of other crops and landscapes, and can occur in very large numbers. The conference is in Binghamton on August 15 from 8:30 - 4:30. Donna Lupardo will be participating - as well as speakers from PA and NYS.
