ITHACA—Tompkins County Public Library will resume its schedule of children’s storytimes in October. Baby Storytime will meet Fridays from 10:30 to 11:00 am, October 4 through December 13. Toddler and Preschool Storytime will meet Tuesdays from 11:00 to 11:30 am, October 8 through December 10. Family Storytime will meet Saturdays from 11:00 to 11:30 am, October 12 through December 14. All storytimes meet in the Library’s Thaler/Howell Programming Room. At Baby Storytime, caregivers and babies up to 24 months embrace early literacy through books, music, movement and rhyming. This storytime is followed by an hour-long “Baby & Toddler Playtime” at 11:00 am. At Toddler and Preschool Storytime, children and families enjoy early literacy based stories, songs, finger plays, and more. After storytime, all are invited to stay for an hour of play and social time. At Family Storytime, children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to celebrate reading and build their early-literacy skills through sharing stories, songs and family fun. The October 12 session of Family Storytime will be followed by a group reading of the 2019 TCPL Community Read author Richard Blanco’s new picture book “One Today.” Contact TCPL Youth Services for more information at 607 272-4557, extension 275.
